Passive Income Strategies: How To Create Info Products That Sell
As you change your business focus from working one on one to create passive streams of income, information products are important tools. They enable you to leverage your time, effort and knowledge for dollars, increase your profit potential and also increase your potential for reaching and helping more people.
In other words, you want to capture the knowledge that you have and communicate it in a clear and concise way that will increase your visibility, credibility and your reach.
Let’s look at some of the ways that you can share your information in the form of info products.
This list is by no means complete, but it will give you an idea of some of the ways you can repackage or repurpose your expertise that you already have. You can create:
* Audios
* Interviews
* Special reports
* Ecourses
* Books
* Card decks
* Board games
* Ebooks
* Reference guides
* “How To” guides
* Training guides
* Newsletters
* Teleclasses
* Videos
* Articles
* Webinars
* Home study courses
* Group coaching
* Seminars
* Workshops
* Live events
* Public speaking
You don’t always have to have a tangible product, or something that you can hold, because info products are just about getting your information out. Many of those formats are digital, so they are easy to make accessible for immediate download after an automated purchasing process on your site.
Also physical products can be design so they don’t require handling or shipping by you if you have that outsourced to one of the many fulfillment companies, and have a good shopping cart system set up.
It’s easy to turn something like an audio file into many different information products. Say you’ve done some teleseminars in your area of expertise. Get those transcribed and now you’ve got all the content in text.
Those transcripts are easily repurposed into articles like this to distribute all over the internet with article directories. You can even use several articles put together to offer your web visitors a 5-day ecourse.
You can then read those articles and record them as MP3s, which you can then make available by podcast, download, or produce physical CDs and again have those packaged and shipped by a fulfillment house for very low cost.
Several articles can also become a special report, an e-book, or a booklet that you can hand out at live events.
How do you know what info products will sell? Look at other websites in your niche and see what other experts are doing. Most importantly, ask your visitors what their biggest challenges are or hat they would like to know more about. Your products must be centered around what people’s real needs are, not what you think they are. That’s how you produce products that will really sell.
Forums are another powerful resource to get to know what problems your prospects are dealing with. Look at the questions that are being asked, and begin to participate as a solutions provider as you can. These forum exchanges will give you lots of ideas about what to build products around, so they’re more likely to sell because they’re reflecting current problems your prospects are having.
By understanding your market’s needs well and learning how to work repurpose your knowledge, you will begin building a very profitable portfolio of information products that will sell well, leverage your time and knowledge, and create passive income.
